PROFILE: In
1997 Danny impressed Brisbane Strikers coach Frank Farina, with his performances
for the QAS (Queensland Academy of Sport) before being signed by the Brisbane
Strikers at the beginning of 1998. He made his debut in the NSL (National
Soccer League) in Round 19 against Carlton. Farina obviously had high regards
for the youngster, as Danny then followed him to Sydney by signing with The Marconi
Stallions in 1999. During this time Danny also toured South America with the
Young Socceroos. After moving to England and signing for Swindon Town FC
in 2000, The winger/striker was considered Swindon Town’s most exciting player,
with devastating pace and a fondness for running at defenders. Colin Todd
signed up Danny after spotting him playing for West Ham in a trial match. Danny
was a regular under Roy Evans and Andy King, whatever formation the manager opted
for. Danny ended the 2000/2001 campaign as the clubs top scorer with 10 goals. Has
was a regular for Andy King and played in a variety of positions. Danny ended
the 2001/2002 campaign as joint top scorer again with 8 goals. The 2002-2003
campaign saw him pick up the PFA Player of the Month Award for February. Danny
is currently playing for Kilmarnock FC
in the Scottish Premier League. |
